The Georgia Board of Regents approved renaming Robinson’s mathematical risk management program from its current official title “Master of Science with a major in Risk Management and Insurance, specialization in Mathematical Risk Management” to “Master of Science with a major in Mathematical Risk Management.” This is important for two reasons. First, graduating students will receive a master’s degree in mathematical risk management, in line with the curriculum. Second, as a stand-alone degree, the M.S. in mathematical risk management program will be granted a Financial Mathematics CIP code (27.0305) designating it as a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) field of study — or, in brief, MRM is STEM! Another benefit: this allows for the 24-month OPT extension for our international students.
