All entering Robinson master's students are required to enroll in BA 5000, Orientation for Robinson Master's Students, in their first semester of enrollment. This 1-day, 6-hour course is for zero hours credit. It consists of several sessions required of all students followed by optional topics. It is graded on a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory basis. Topics for new student orientation include faculty expectations, networking, academic advising, career management and general orientation comments/advice to make your start at Robinson successful. You also will have the opportunity to visit with the staff—the "Resources of Robinson"—throughout the event.
NOTE: The BA 5000 sessions take place before classes begin.
Classes for spring 2010 begin on Monday, January 11, 2010.

The objectives of the orientation program follow:
- To develop a sense of community and identification for the Robinson master's students.
- To introduce Robinson master's students to the case method of study and analysis.
- To demonstrate how teamwork enhances learning.
- To begin the process of program planning and career planning.
This course is designed to assist Robinson master's students beginning their graduate studies by providing constructive suggestions. Students receive relevant information about the Robinson master's program framework and curriculum to assist in understanding the total process and reasons for courses. Students receive assistance in developing effective learning strategies, including introduction to case analysis, understanding the benefits of diversity in decision making, learning how to be a member of a productive study team, and initiating the career planning process. There are also opportunities for networking with other students.
