The School of Accountancy offers quality accounting education and research. The programs in the School of Accountancy include a four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree (BBA), the Master of Professional Accountancy degree (MPA), Master of Science Information Systems Audit and Control (MISAC), Master of Taxation degree (MTAX) and a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Accounting (Ph.D.).
The graduate accountancy program is ranked #27 in the nation in "America's Best Graduate Schools 2013," published March 2012 by U.S. News & World Report. The most recent CPA Personnel Report ranked the program 15th in the nation.

The teaching mission of the School of Accountancy is to produce outstanding graduates by offering comprehensive, state-of-the-art bachelor's, master's, doctoral and continuing professional education programs. The school is home to the Controllers Leadership Council and serves as the home base and support for a number of student organizations.

Numbers adding up as colleges churn out accounting degrees

According to Galen Sevcik of the School of Accountancy, “The labor market is a lot less forgiving now,” he said. “It used to be you could come out with a less applied major and still get a job.
