Marketing Issues in the Global Supply Network:
Theoretical and Empirical Directions for Future Research
| Call for Papers |
Paper Submission Deadline: February 15, 2011 |
We invite papers on all marketing aspects of global business activity, including issues in international marketing management, consumer behavior and supply chains. While contributions addressing any aspect of marketing in a global context are welcome, work offering important conceptual and empirical insights into the nature and processes of cross-border marketing are of interest. Mainstream marketing issues such as market entry, segmentation, product positioning, channel development and pricing among others are sought; also innovative topics dealing with the interface of international marketing and cutting-edge issues such as high technology and global political developments, among others. Regardless of focus, papers should make a substantive contribution to knowledge regarding the role of marketing in global business.
In line with the conference theme, papers discussing marketing issues relevant to the global supply network are particularly encouraged. Accelerating trends toward the globalization of supply networks provide researchers with a unique opportunity to develop interesting and compelling conceptualizations of the global supply chain phenomenon as well as to elaborate on complex issues of measurement and data collection associated with this challenging research topic. Broadly interpreting global supply, the conference seeks theoretical and empirical papers focusing on traditional supply chain and value chain management as well as on related topics including international business-to-business, buyer-seller relationships, channels of distribution, logistics, sales and vendor management, operations and information technology, and other aspects of supply management in a global context.
Paper Submission
Submissions include manuscripts for competitive paper sessions (not to exceed 30 pages in total) and extended abstracts (not to exceed 4 pages in total) for research workshop presentations. All full manuscripts and abstracts in digital form (MS Word file) should be submitted electronically by January 15, 2011 via the Paper Submission web page. Manuscripts should follow the style guidelines of the Journal of International Marketing and be submitted with the understanding that they are original, unpublished works and are not being reviewed elsewhere.
A "Best Competitive Paper" of the conference will be selected by the CIMaR 2011 Advisory Board, and the reward will be a cash prize of $1,000, jointly sponsored by the MSU and GSU CIBERs. The Best Competitive Paper winner will be recognized at the Award Luncheon.
Publication Opportunities
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings in digital format. The authors can choose to publish either their full manuscript or a detailed abstract in the proceedings when first submitting their work. Each participant of the conference will receive a CD containing the conference proceedings. In addition, accepted manuscripts will be considered for publication in Advances in International Marketing through a double-blind review process.
