GSU Marketing RoundTable
The Georgia State University Marketing RoundTable brings together the top marketing officers of the two-dozen largest firms based in the Atlanta area. The roundtable facilitates professional development by giving these key decision-makers the opportunity to network and to keep abreast of the latest developments in marketing. Member firms also enter into a special relationship with the faculty of Robinson’s Department of Marketing. In exchange for financial support and access to corporate resources, the members receive advice and research assistance from the faculty.
Members of the Marketing RoundTable participate each year as judges for the finalist winners of the Edison Awards — named after Thomas Edison — honoring innovations and innovators globally since 1987. Criteria for these awards range from the concept, value, delivery, and sustainable impact. All roundtable members possess a deep level of experience and passion, and in many cases are recognized as thought leaders. Proceeds from the judging partnership are used to fund Georgia State University’s minority marketing scholarships awarded each year.
Dr. Maureen Schumacher is the director of the GSU Marketing RoundTable. While working at Google Maureen was a member until recently moving to lead the roundtable, teach at GSU, and continue research in digital and social media. Dr. Kenneth Bernhardt precedes Maureen as the founder of the roundtable. GSU’s Marketing RoundTable has been in existence for 27 years. Membership comprises executives from non-competing organizations and is offered by invitation only.
