Doctoral Candidate

Janée N. Burkhalter is a marketing Ph.D. candidate at Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business and represented the department as its American Marketing Association Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium Fellow in 2008. She holds Bachelor's of Science and Master's of Business Administration degrees from Florida A&M University. Her current research interests focus on the unconventional including niche markets and covert marketing practices. Janée's work has appeared in the Journal of Financial Services Marketing, the Journal of Entrepreneurial Education and the Journal of Business and Economics Research. She presented her research at the 2008 Academy of Marketing Science Cultural Perspectives in Marketing Conference and in the Excellence in Marketing Education and Innovative Teaching Track at the Academy of Marketing Science Conference in Vancouver. She will join the marketing faculty of Saint Joseph's University in fall 2009.
Prior to entering the doctoral program, Janée spent several years in financial services marketing, where her work focused on business-to-business, minority consumers and affluent clientele.
