James Boles

James S. Boles is Professor of Marketing at Georgia State University (GSU). He has been at GSU since he received his Ph.D. from Louisiana State University in 1991. At GSU, he has received recognition awards from the Robinson College of Business for research (1997; 2001), teaching (1996), and service (2006). Prior to returning to Academia, Professor Boles worked in the area of investment sales. He currently teaches in the MBA, PMBA and EMBA programs at Georgia State University and is the research director for the GSU Sales Program.

His research has appeared in a variety of journals including:Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management and the Journal of Applied Psychology. Dr. Boles is also the editor for the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management. In addition to his work and academic experience, he has conducted sales research/training, as well as negotiations training, for a number of major organizations.
