Anindita completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and her MBA in India. She worked as a sales manager for a reputed bank in India for two years. She was responsible for direct sales to small and medium enterprises. She joined the doctoral program in marketing at Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Rajdeep Grewal is her dissertation chair and Dr. Gary Lilien is her dissertation committee member. In her dissertation, Anindita is focusing on marketing decisions that are essentially tradeoffs between two equally important strategies. She is investigating how such decisions are made in firms, as well as how such decisions influence financial returns. In her first essay, she looks at investment tradeoffs between marketing and product innovation capabilities, and uncovers an effective decision model wherein investment tradeoffs are made based on the market intelligence provided by past stock market movements. In her second essay, Anindita studies tradeoffs in network structures in new product alliances. She investigates how board composition and past stock market movements influence the network structure tradeoff, and further probes the kind of financial returns appropriated from such network structure tradeoffs. Anindita is also interested in new product innovation and the innovative uses of the internet in marketing new products.
