Matilda is a third-year Ph.D. student in Marketing at the University of Groningen (expected graduation in June 2010). She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Staffordshire University, the United Kingdom, where she received an MSc in Global Marketing and from the University of Split, Croatia where she obtained a B.S. in Economics and was awarded the Rector's Award for Excellence. During her doctoral studies, among others, she has completed advanced courses in modelling, econometrics, structural models (M. Wedel), marketing theory (P. Verhoef) and behavioural decision theory (S. Van Osselaer) with the highest grades.
Her research interests lie in the areas of customer management (particularly loyalty management and loyalty programs) and marketing models (specifically dynamic modelling of marketing phenomena). Her thesis explores the area of multi-vendor loyalty programs, focusing on the effectiveness of loyalty program-induced marketing actions, existence of cross-vendor transfer effects, and dynamic structural models of customer choices within multi-vendor loyalty programs. Matilda participates in consulting projects at the Customer Insight Center at the University of Groningen. She has published pieces in Marketing-JRM and will present her working paper at the Marketing Science Conference 2009 (Wharton/PennState Special Session) and EMAC Doctoral Colloquium 2009.
