Since April 2006, Christian Schlereth (1979) is working as a Research Assistant and Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Marketing at the Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. He has particular research interest in the execution and modeling of discrete choice experiments, i. e. choice-based conjoint analysis, for (internet-based) services, where consumers typically consume more than one unit of the service. Therefore, he has developed estimation tools, which make use of Hierarchical Bayes-techniques and which allow for the determination of optimal nonlinear pricing-schemes. One of his papers is currently in the second round of the IJRM and others are close for submission to Marketing Science and European Journal of Operational Research. In spring 2009, he was gratefully invited for 3 months as a visiting scholar at CenSoC the center for the study of choice at the University of Technology at Sydney that is headed by Jordan Louviere.
His insights and the software that he developed were also successfully applied in several research and consultation projects with companies such as T-Online (telecommunication industry) or comdirect (second largest Online bank in Germany). He was highly involved in the proposal for the government-funded project Premium Services cooperation between 4 universities and 8 companies (e. g. SAP, German Telekom or Nokia Siemens Networks) and currently leads the execution of two of its subprojects.
Christian Schlereth holds a joint Masters degree in business administration and computer science from the Technical University Darmstadt, Germany, where he studied from 1999 to 2006. During his studies, he also gained work experience with IBM Germany.
