Larry Kimbell
Former Director & Professor Emeritus
UCLA Business Forecasting Project

BIO- Larry J. Kimbell is the former Director of the UCLA Business Forecasting Project, which he directed for seventeen years. At UCLA, he co-authored the quarterly UCLA National and California Forecast with Rajeev Dhawan, and developed macroeconometric models of the U.S and California economies.  His research has centered on the development, estimation and policy application of large scale economic models. These models include: micro-simulation models of the U. S. and California health care systems; macroeconometric models of the U.S. California and sub-state regional economies; micro-analytic models of international trade in the Pacific Basin, water allocation in California and air quality regulation in southern California.

Kimbell is also Professor Emeritus of Business Economics at the John E. Anderson School of Management at UCLA, where he teaches macroeconomics and business forecasting.  From July 1990 until June 1992, Kimbell served as director of the U.S. Macroeconomic Forecasting Service of the WEFA Group, Inc., where he co-authored the monthly short-term U.S. forecast and the quarterly long-term U.S. forecast.

Kimbell has been a consultant for many private corporations and federal, state and local government.  He has advised international agencies such as the World Bank, the Bundesbank, and the United Nations, along with foreign governments and organizations in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

He received a B.A degree with honors from Yale University and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Austin.

Christina Leijonhufvud

JP Morgan Chase & Co

BIO- Christina Leijonhufvud heads Credit Portfolio Market Risk and Country Risk Management for JP Morgan Chase & Co. which provides oversight of the firm's country risks as well as market risks in the global credit portfolio.  In the area of global credit, Christina is responsible for the framework for measurement and management of the market risks inherent in the portfolio management, trading, and hedging activities around JP Morgan's retained credit risk.  As for country risk, her team provides ongoing sovereign credit risk analysis and internal ratings and develops models for quantifying and limiting the firm's country risks.  In particular, her team has designed and implemented a stress-testing methodology that measures the firm's potential loss in an extreme country event as the basis for setting country exposure limits. 

Christina joined J.P. Morgan in 1996, after working for over three years at the World Bank as Country Officer, helping develop reform programs and borrowing strategies for the former Soviet Republics of Central Asia.  In 1991, she served on the Economic Reform Committee for the Government of Kazakhstan.  Ms. Leijonhufvud earned a M.Sc. degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a M.A. degree in International Affairs from George Washington University.

Jim Borders

BIO- Jim Borders is president of Novare Group, Inc., a real estate investment and development company located in Atlanta, Georgia.  He started Novare in 1992 and has invested in self storage facilities and office buildings, has developed apartments, condominiums, and office buildings, and has converted apartments to condominiums.  While his early projects were adaptive reuse, he is currently developing three new condominium buildings in Atlanta.  His major projects include One Park Tower, 10 Park Place South, Renaissance Lofts, The Metropolitan,  Peachtree Lofts, The Biltmore, Biltmore House, 33 Ponce, Newnan Lofts, and Peachtree Place.  In the past three years, his partnerships have sold over $110 million of condominiums. 

His current projects are Centennial House, a 101 unit condominium in joint venture with Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership, Metropolis, a 498 unit condominium in joint venture with Wood Partners and TMW, and 250 Pharr Road, a 400 unit apartment/condominium in joint venture with Wood Partners.  Mr. Borders also serves as Vice Chairman of Biltmore Communications, Inc. a provider of high speed internet and satellite TV services to multi-density projects in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Mr. Borders received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech and a J.D./M.B.A at the University of Georgia.  He practiced law at King & Spalding before beginning his business career
