 Charles Brewer, founder and CEO of Mindspring Enterprises until its merger with EarthLink to form the second-largest Internet service provider, was selected as the 2007 recipient of the Ethics Advocate Award. Mr. Brewer was nominated for his public advocacy of values-based management, which he sees as the key to reforming the world of business.

 Selected as the 2006 Ethics Advocate Award recipient for her steadfast commitment to ethics reform in city government, the Honorable Shirley Franklin, mayor of the city of Atlanta, was recognized for her leadership in advocating and enforcing an "ethics first" approach to government.

 Mr. Bill Bolling, the executive director of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, was the recipient of the 2005 Ethics Advocate Award. Mr. Bolling received the award in recognition of his leadership in advocating that businesses take seriously their ethical responsibilities to those suffering from hunger and illiteracy. |

 The Southern Institute's 2004 Ethics Advocate Award was presented to Mr. Ray Anderson, chairman of Interface Inc., the leading manufacturer of commercial carpet. Mr. Anderson was honored for his advocacy of environmental sustainability, a goal of his own company that he has encouraged others to adopt as well. |

 The inaugural recipient of the award was The Honorable Robert Benham, an advocate of judicial reform and the first African-American to serve as Georgia's Supreme Court Chief Justice. He has earned respect as an outspoken proponent of ethics, equality and fairness in the state's judiciary. |
