A partnership between the GSU Robinson College of Business and the University of Oxford's Harris Manchester College established to help senior executives develop their global knowledge and skills in the areas of leadership, economics, innovation, strategy, and corporate culture.
Harris Manchester College (HMC) was originally founded as the Warrington Academy in 1757. The College was re-founded in Manchester in 1786 to train people for the learned professions in civil and commercial life. John Dalton, famous for his atomic theory, was appointed a professor of the college in 1793. In the 1900s, the college was granted a Royal Charter making it the 39th College of the University of Oxford, and following a generous benefaction from Lord Harris and his family, it became known as Harris Manchester College.
Harris Manchester College is unique in Oxford as it takes only mature students to study for undergraduate and graduate degrees. The college's primary objective is to provide an academic and social environment in which mature students can flourish. Centrally located in Oxford, England, Harris Manchester offers a beautiful central location and picturesque college grounds. From the chapel's stunning William Morris stained glass windows to the ancient and cozy Tate library, the architecture both inspires and calms.
But above all, what really makes Harris Manchester College such a special place is the friendly and professional staff led by our host Dr. Ralph Waller, principal of HMC, and a world-class staff that includes the chef, high steward, and members of the Bursary and Administrative Offices.
