Lean Six Sigma "Gold" Certification Program

(Green Belt and Black Belt)

Overview

Six Sigma is now a global trend – a methodology for business excellence through continuous improvement. Upon certification, participants will be equipped with tools to optimize business processes and contribute to breakthrough results in corporate performance – the same process-improvement skills that enabled early pioneers such as Motorola and General Electric to produce dramatic results in corporate performance.

Our curriculum integrates Six Sigma and Lean with business analytics, business intelligence and decision support under one umbrella, making it the only comprehensive offering in Atlanta.

  • Green Belt candidates attend the first five weeks of our combined 10-week Green Belt/Black Belt program.
  • Candidates seeking Green and Black Belt Certification (combination) will attend all 10 weeks.
  • Candidates who have acquired Green Belt Certification and are seeking Black Belt Certification only, will attend the last five weeks of the 10-week program.

Green Belt Participants Will Learn to

  • Lead departmental projects to higher performance
  • Become more effective team members for cross-functional projects
  • Apply introductory methods and tools

Black Belt Participants Will Learn to

  • Bring about measurable improvements in customer satisfaction, product quality and profitability
  • Lead challenging reengineering or improvement projects that create sustainable corporate value

Who Should Attend

  • Employees and consultants seeking certification to lead major projects
  • Green Belt holders who are ready to lead major Six Sigma projects
  • Professionals engaged in business improvement projects

What Past Participants Say

  • "With continued corporate pressure to improve capital efficiency, GSU's Lean Six Sigma is just what the doctor ordered. The program combines the right level of project management, statistics, and fun. I realized small improvements can equal big cost savings!"
    --Paul Perkins (E2M)
  • "Combining the quantitative analysis tools with Lean and Six Sigma provides an obvious competitive advantage for any manager in any industry. As the techniques became obvious, I could hardly wait until the end of class to get started improving another process!"
    --Charles Hollingsworth (RealTime Gaming)
  • "I took the Lean Six Sigma Gold training to help bulletproof my resume, but have found the basic principles so useful in my current position that I am seeing success levels immediately in my approach to problem solving and efficiency at work."
    --Jeff Schumacher (Woodland International)
  • "I had an interview last week with a marketing company. They were really excited about the Six Sigma. I said I was taking the Green Belt exam this month and I would be taking the Black Belt certification too. A lot of their clients use Six Sigma and they said just saying I had a Green Belt would be impressive to the clients. I don't even have it yet but it has been helpful."
--Anne Wittle, Robinson (College of Business MBA Student)
  • "Excellent instructors with a wide array of knowledge and relate concepts to real world Lean and Six Sigma projects.  I highly recommend this training
    for personal and career development."
    --Feon Hughes (SunTrust Bank)
