Biography:
Dr. Saboo received his Ph.D. in marketing from the Pennsylvania State University. Before joining the Ph.D. program in 2007, he worked as a product manager at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and as a CRM Consultant at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.
Professor Saboo is primarily interested in investigating the effectiveness of firms’ marketing strategies. His current research looks at 1) the influence of pre-IPO customer and competitor orientations of the firm on its IPO performance, and 2) how firms “dress up” for their IPOs and how this dressing-up impacts organizational short- and long-term performance. Additionally, he is interested in B2B issues and is examining the value of institutions in new product alliances.
Dr. Saboo was the winner of the 2011 ISBM Doctoral Support Award Competition and has been awarded over $12,000 in research support from various funding sources. In his spare time, Alok spends time with his family and blogs.
