Cross-cultural consumer behavior
Global marketing

Verhage specializes in international marketing and cross-cultural consumer behavior. His research has been published in such journals as International Marketing Review, Journal of Consumer Research and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. Verhage is the author of several books, including the leading Dutch marketing textbook: Grondslagen van de Marketing. His business experience includes a marketing management position at SHV Nederland N.V., one of Holland's largest multinational corporations. In addition, he has been a consultant for numerous businesses in Europe.

Prior to coming to Georgia State he taught at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He also has been a visiting professor at other European universities and business schools, including Nyenrode and the Rotterdam School of Management.
