REVIEWER SELECTION
We strive to select a reviewer who is familiar with the topic area of the manuscript. We thus rely on our assessment of the manuscript's contents based largely on the abstract and introduction, and not necessarily on the author(s)' citations. Associate Editors are frequently used as reviewers.
Occasionally, the reviewer's report is not acceptable to us, or the reviewer may be too delinquent or otherwise unable to provide the report. In these rare instances, we select a new reviewer and notify the author of this continuation.
APPEALS
Manuscript rejections are typically final. However, there are instances in which we will allow the author to resubmit the manuscript. In these instances, we will typically select an Associate Editor to evaluate author(s)' documented position,vis-a-vis the referee's opinion. The Associate Editor may request additional revisions or reject the manuscript.
