
Welcome to the Student Communications and Research Lab (SCRL)
The Student Communications and Research Lab, a multimedia computer lab, provides Marketing and Business Communications students with access to workstations, software and equipment to:
- Develop, practice and refine presentations
- Work with specialized software for presentations and research
- Conduct research requiring audio and video equipment
Specifically, the lab provides:
- Four PC workstations with a variety of specialized software packages (SPSS, SPSS Data Entry, SAS, LISREL, QSR N6, Business Map, ARC GIS, Excel TreePlan, Dreamweaver); one workstation includes a transcription system
- A Presentation Station that includes a PC for running PowerPoint presentations, a camera and DVR for recording the presentation for review or editing
- One Apple IMac for advanced video and audio editing
- Video and audio equipment that can be checked out to:
- Practice and record presentations in a remote location
- Video or audio-tape interviews

Hours of Operation
Lab Hours with prior reservations
Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance for lab use during the following times:
Monday - Friday
8:30 AM and 5:00 PM
Walk-up Lab Hours (no reservations necessary)
The lab can be accessed without prior reservations during the following times:
Tuesdays and Thursdays
10:00 AM to 12:00 noon
2:00 PM to 4:00 pm
