Q: Does commerce play a role in taking advantage of this opportunity?

A: I think that economic issues can be so important. Perhaps the biggest economic bonanza for that region, if there were peace, would be tourism, which is the largest single source of foreign revenue coming into Egypt and Jordan and second or third for Israel. Tourism could bring people from Europe, the West, the United States, who would love to visit Egypt, Israel, the Holy Land, and Jordan. They’ve got beaches, Nazareth and Bethlehem, all sorts of things that people would love to see if there was peace. But now, they are afraid of suicide bombers and terrorism. Economically, tourism could be a huge development.
