Korea University EMBA Students Visit Robinson

Korean flagsThe Center for Global Business Leadership hosted the international residency of 39 executive MBA students from Korea University Business School.

James Senn, director of the center and professor of international business; Pamela Ellen, associate professor of marketing; Jason Greene, associate professor of finance; and Wesley Johnston, Center for Business and Industrial Marketing (CBIM) Rountable Professor of Marketing, conducted workshops for the students on topics ranging from executive leadership to business-tobusiness marketing strategies. In addition, the students visited Coca-Cola, UPS, Deloitte & Touche and Price Waterhouse Coopers.

The executive MBA group consisted primarily of CEOs, managing directors and general managers of established companies in Korea. Korea University Business School is regarded as one of the top two institutions in the Republic of South Korea.

Robinson Hosts Third Annual Financial Reporting Conference

Financial reporting professionals face many new challenges in today’s business and regulatory environment. For the past three years, the School of Accountancy has hosted a Financial Reporting Conference designed to help preparers and users of financial statements stay current on the latest financial reporting trends and issues. Highlights from this year’s third annual conference included a report on current and emerging issues at the Securities and Exchange Commission by Andy Bailey, deputy chief accountant for the SEC; a keynote address by Colleen Cunningham, president of FEI (Financial Executives International); a return appearance by Financial Accounting Board member Katherine Schipper, who provided an update on the FASB agenda; a panel discussion with controllers from some of Atlanta’s top companies on current issues in financial reporting; and a speech by Patrick McGurn, president of Institutional Shareholder Services.
