Learning From Life...

In this issue:

Learning From Life...
Two college programs are exposing students to learning opportunities beyond the traditional classroom. Through mentor and intern programs, these students are expanding their minds and gaining valuable insights into their future careers. With help from BellSouth Telecommunications and MCI Worldcom, Georgia State is providing students with more than their textbooks and lectures.

Taking a Gamble on Health
In light of a strong economy and low unemployment, most people would assume that health care coverage participation would be at an all-time high. However, research conducted by Bill Custer in the College's Department of Risk Management and Insurance found that quite the opposite is true.

Alumni Profiles
Joe Taylor (MBA '70, Ph.D. '78)
Joe Taylor, alumnus and former faculty member, has helped both Georgia State and Atlanta's health care industry achieve success and prominence. Along the way, he has left his mark on the city and the University.

Virtual Classroom
Imagine going to class by logging on to your computer in your home or office. Students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business are able to do just that, and more. Through on-line courses, faculty and students are redefining the word "classroom" and taking advantage of all that today's technology has to offer.
