The Vision to be the Best

Page 2

Already a year into implementation, the department has focused on dramatically expanding its research programs. It will address the world's most pressing risk management issues through cutting-edge research, as well as significantly upgrading its academic programs and standards.

he department has already added four research faculty members, who will be joined by two more by next year. Dubbed "the six-pack," the group will consist of faculty trained in the most advanced methods of research within their disciplines. According to Srivastava, their goal will be to work together and with other senior faculty members to produce path-breaking research with the potential to create a new discipline.

"The risk management revolution has provided a wonderful opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of risk," said Srivastava. "The exciting thing for us is that we are truly poised to be at the forefront because no other single academic unit in the world is doing as much as we are in this area."

For Robinson's RMI Department, the vision continues.
