The College honored six of its own with the 2005 Faculty Recognition Award. The annual award recognizes
faculty members for excellence in teaching, research, and service. This year’s recipients are
Larry Brown (research), G. Peter Zhang (research), Perry
Binder (teaching), Detmar Straub (teaching), Beverly Langford
(service), and Ed Miles (service). Nominations for the Faculty Recognition Awards are
submitted by department chairs. Winners are selected based on criteria set by members of the College’s
Executive Committee.
Former Dean Sidney Harris was appointed to the National Advisory Council for The Camp
Coca-Cola Foundation. "The goal of the Foundation is to inspire teens from disadvantaged circumstances
to rise to their leadership potential and shine throughout their communities."
Pam Scholder Ellen, associate professor of marketing, has been named President-Elect of
the Academic Council of the American Marketing Association for 2006-2007, an international organization of
38,000 marketing professionals. She will assume the position of President of the academic division in
2007-2008.
