Hershey CEO Endows Distinguished Chair in Marketing
Richard H. "Rick" LennyRichard H. "Rick" Lenny (B.B.A. '74), chairman, president, and CEO of The Hershey Company, and his wife Susan have given $750,000 toward an endowment at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. The gift will lead to the creation of the Richard and Susan Lenny Distinguished Chair in Marketing.

Lenny, a Robinson alumnus and the first CEO in Hershey’s history to be hired from outside the company, was named one of the 30 "World’s Most Respected CEOs" by Barron’s. He is credited with substantially increasing the value of the company and extending Hershey’s reach beyond confectionery into the $60 billion snack market. In 2004, Brandweek named him "Marketer of the Year."

"Susan and I are honored to be able to give back to Georgia State University and the Robinson College of Business," said Lenny. "From my experience at Robinson, I know that exceptional faculty and students are the catalysts for any great program. We’re pleased that our commitment will assist in recruiting the very best faculty to the marketing department and the College."

Rajeev received an accuracy rating of 94.1% and was commended by the publication for being "among the few economists within the Bloomberg survey who correctly forecast a slowdown in the final three months of 2004."

In 2003, Rajeev was named one of the country’s most accurate employment forecasters by the Bank One Economic Outlook Center at Arizona State University for his accuracy in forecasting U.S. job growth, receiving "The Most Accurate of Total Non-farm Employment" award.
