College’s Executive MBA Advances in
Worldwide Ranking
The Financial Times 2005 Survey
of EMBA Programs has ranked the College
among the top 40 programs worldwide
(37th), an advance of seven positions in
one year and 31 spots since its first
appearance on the list in 2003. The
survey places the school among the top
20 in the U.S. Robinson was one of only
two colleges in Georgia (with Emory
University) ranked in the survey. In
addition, the College ranked among the
top half of all schools surveyed for
alumni salary, salary increases, and
career progress. The Financial Times
ranking is based on a survey of
graduates from the 2002 EMBA class
combined with statistical data from each
school.
College Hosts Deputy Secretary of the
Treasury
Earlier
this year, the College hosted U.S.
Treasury Department Deputy Secretary
Robert Kimmitt. Kimmitt was one of
several officials touring the country
to talk about the administration’s
policies of tax cuts and spending
constraints. Kimmitt was met by the Dean
and about 50 faculty, students, alums,
business leaders, and members of the
press. In his speech he said that the
U.S. economy was changing, with workers
now likely to work for many different
companies during their careers rather
than just one. He also said that the
U.S. pension system was "in transition,"
citing the recent announcement by IBM
that it would freeze its current plan
and boost 401(k) savings offerings.
