management concerns. The 2006 series
of three programs was sponsored by Georgia-
Pacific Corporation and hosted in the facilities
of member companies.
> Conducts an educational program, including
games and writing competitions, for school
classrooms and youth organizations.
> Created CarTown USA, the nation’s first
business ethics simulation for high school
classrooms (now in high schools in 23 states,
Canada, and France, and being distributed in
Geogia by the Georgia State–affiliated Georgia
Council on Economic Education).
> Offers an employers’ network on diversity
management; customized workshops for
professional, trade, and civic organizations;
and a biennial survey of Regional CEOs.
> Was privately funded and will continue
to rely on private funding as part of the
Robinson College.
> The Southern Institute and its four-person
staff will be located in the Bennett Brown
(Commerce Club) building on the 14th floor.
> Recently named Jack Ward, former chairman
and CEO of Russell Corporation, and Linda
DeSantis, former city attorney of Atlanta, as
Institute’s first Executives-in-Residence.
