Panthers on Wall Street
Robinson business students will experience firsthand the fast-paced world of Wall Street
as the result of a new College program, labeled appropriately “Panthers on Wall Street.”
The event, to be spread over four days this coming October, will include visits to major
corporations, banks, securities houses, and stock exchanges along with tours of the city.
Honorary chair for the event is Jefferson Harralson, a member of the Robinson Board of
Advisors and senior vice president – Research Department for the financial services firm
Keefe, Bruyette and Woods Inc.

Star Power
High-profile speakers are not new to Robinson, but in recent
months an exceptional group of top executives visited the
College. Entrepreneur Charles Brewer, founder of Mindspring
Enterprises and Green Street Properties, spoke to a gathering
at the Carter Center when he received Robinson’s 2007 Ethics
Advocate Award.
The College’s Center for Global Business Leadership sponsored a
forum with Spencer Stuart featuring Jim Citron, senior director
and member of the worldwide board of directors of Spencer Stuart.
The Center also sponsored a blockbuster panel at Robinson’s
new Executive Education Center. Featured speakers were A. G.
Lafley, chairman and CEO , Procter & Gamble; John Rice, CEO
of General Electric Infrastructure and vice-chairman of General
Electric; Helen Gayle, CEO of CARE; Sharon Allen, chairman,
Deloitte & Touche; and Carol Hymowitz, the Wall Street Journal
principal columnist on executive leadership. Ted Turner, entrepreneur,
philanthropist, and now a noted restaurateur (Ted’s Montana Grill)
stopped by for what he called a “fireside chat” with students
from the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality. Turner discussed
sustainability as it relates to restaurant operations and other
business endeavors.
