The Envelope, Please Entrepreneurs,
corporate leaders, and the head of the Atlanta Convention &
Visitors Bureau (ACVB) were all honored as part of the Robinson
College’s 6th Annual Alumni Awards celebration. The event was held at
the Mansion on Peachtree thanks to the support of Atlanta developer
John Williams.
Those on the slate included retail expert
Barbara B. Kaufman; prominent downtown real estate executive Richard
Bowers; venture capitalist Richard Vines; the former heads of Andrew
Corporation (Ralph Faison) and Genuine Par ts Company (William
Hatcher); and the ACVB’s Spurgeon Richardson. Bowers and Vines were
recognized for their service to Robinson College; Faison for community
service; Kaufman for entrepreneurship; Hatcher for lifetime
achievement; and Richardson as honorary alumnus.
Alumnus
Michael Russell, CEO of H. J. Russell & Company, served as master
of ceremonies for the evening. According to Robinson Dean Fenwick Huss,
“Each of this year’s recipients represents the best of the Robinson
College of Business. We are proud to welcome them back and honor their
accomplishments in business and in the community.”
