CIS Department Second in the World in Published Research Citations

September 4, 2007 - (ATLANTA, GA) -  In a study just published in the Communications of the AIS, the Computer Information Systems Department in the Robinson College of Business was ranked second only to M.I.T. in the world in the "number of citations . . . published in . . . premier journals [in the period] 1990-2004" by faculty researchers in the Department.  Published citations by other authors are often considered the best indicator of the impact and significance of academic papers.  Three members of the CIS faculty, E. McLean, D. Straub, and D. Robey, were among the top 12 of authors cited in the study.  On the same list, the University of Georgia was ranked ninth and Emory University, 40th.




The J. Mack Robinson College of Business is one of the top-ranked business schools. The College's Flex (part-time) MBA program has been listed in the top ten by U.S. News for the past twelve consecutive years and its undergraduate business program is ranked among the top 50 in the nation. Robinson's Executive MBA program is listed among the world's best by The Financial Times.
