Georgia State's Robinson College of Business Offers New Executive Education Short Courses in Information Technology
Top-ranked computer information systems faculty teams up with industry experts to offer 16 non-degree short courses designed for information technology professionals
January 13, 2009 - (ATLANTA) -The highly ranked computer information systems (CIS) department of Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business is teaming up with a wide range of IT industry experts to offer 16 non-degree IT-specific short courses as part of the College's Executive Education program. The courses are designed to provide IT professionals with the latest knowledge and trends in areas such as IT leadership, management, business intelligence, innovation, outsourcing, security, computer forensics, enterprise resources, supply chain management, and mobile and wireless applications.
The initial course on IT Technology Leadership will be offered on February 10-11 at Georgia State's new Executive Education Center in Buckhead. The course will be taught by Jim Senn, executive director of Robinson's Center for Global Business Leadership. Subsequent courses are scheduled for March 9-11 (Creating and Executing IT Strategy) and April 6-7 (Managing IT: An Organizational Approach). According to Craig Ruff, director of Robinson's Executive Education program, "As with all our Executive Education courses, we are pleased to make available top faculty members, who also teach in Robinson's highly-ranked MBA programs. Robinson's CIS faculty, for example, is ranked first in Georgia and the Southeast and in the top ten in the nation. Nowhere will students be able to obtain the type of instruction and information that they will receive from Robinson's Executive Education offerings."

Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University is one of the strongest information systems departments in the world. In 2008, the department's undergraduate (ranked 8th in the nation) and graduate programs (ranked 9th in the nation) were the top in the Southeast and among the top-ten CIS departments in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report.
