Institute of Health Administration Receives CAHME/Cerner Award
ATLANTA – The MBA/Master of Health Administration (MBA/M.H.A.) program offered by the Institute of Health Administration at Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business has received the CAHME/Cerner Award for Excellence in Healthcare Management Systems Education.
The award is co-presented by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) and Cerner, a health information technology corporation, to recognize excellence in education in the use of information technology and management in healthcare.
“It is hugely gratifying to receive the CAHME/Cerner Award for our MBA/M.H.A. program,” said Robinson College Dean Richard D. Phillips. “It is a testament to the relevance of the curriculum developed by the faculty in our Institute of Health Administration in close partnership with the members of the institute’s advisory board.”
Robinson’s CAHME-accredited MBA/M.H.A. program prepares future executives for managerial and leadership positions in healthcare and business organizations by developing an understanding of market forces, policy formulation, strategic management and technical skills. The curriculum is based on a 20-point competency model spanning business knowledge and skills, knowledge of the healthcare environment, leadership and professionalism.
Alumni of Robinson’s MBA/M.H.A. program hold executive positions across Georgia, throughout the U.S. and around the world. Graduates work in hospital systems, managed care organizations, governmental agencies, consulting firms, information technology companies, medical device companies, insurers and more. Modern Healthcare ranks Robinson’s M.H.A. program among the 10 largest in the nation.
