The GroupWise quota will be implemented on March 15, 2004
All faculty and staff GroupWise accounts in the Robinson College of Business will have a quota of 300MB. Retirees, student hires and part time instructors will have a quota of 100MB. Systems Support will contact anyone whose account is above their quota.
Once the quota is in place, anyone who exceeds their quota will be able to receive new mail but will be unable to send any mail. If you have not been contacted by Systems Support and would like to know how much space your mailbox is using, just call the HelpDesk at 404-413-7100 or email RCBHELP for this information. Please be aware that this information is only updated once a week on Fridays.
The GroupWise client on your desktop and web access will perform better and open faster if you have fewer emails in your account. The size of your GroupWise mailbox is not only influenced by the number of emails that you have in your main Mailbox, Sent Mail folder and the different Cabinet folders but by the size of the attachments in your mail. In addition, sending an email to a large number of recipients will also increase the size of the email. RCBSS will provide assistance to all users who need help in managing their mailboxes.
Remember these GroupWise tips to keep your mailbox from exceeding the quota:
- Delete or archive on a timely basis.
- Save attachments to your hard drive and then delete or archive the emails.
- Don't forget the Sent Mail folder and Cabinet folders. Delete or archive emails there also.
- Be sure to empty the Trash.

Once the quota is in place. users will be able to determine what percentage of their quota they are using by clicking on the Mailbox Size percentage located on the status bar at the bottom of the GroupWise window.
