RMI Scholarships: How to Apply

The Department of Risk Management & Insurance accepts scholarship applications from March 1-31.

Timing of Disbursements

The scholarship committee meets each spring to award scholarships for the upcoming academic year. Of the total scholarship amount awarded to a student, one half will be paid in fall semester of the upcoming academic year, and the second half will be paid in spring semester of the upcoming academic year.

General Application

Students who have not previously received an RMI department scholarship should print out the General Application and return the required information and materials to the address that appears on the form. You only need to submit one application to be considered for all applicable RMI department scholarships.

Renewal Application

Current students who previously received an RMI department scholarship and wish to continue that award in the upcoming year must submit a Renewal Application. Any renewals to previous recipients are made in the spring for the upcoming academic year, and are contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and timely progress towards your degree.

External Scholarships/Special Programs

RMI department students also are eligible to apply for certain special programs and scholarships offered by other organizations. Separate applications, with separate deadlines, are required for some of these special programs. Recipients are typically selected by the awarding organization and not the RMI department’s scholarship committee.
