Princess grew up in Georgia, and Atlanta is home. After earning a BA in Communications and Media Studies at Clayton State University, Princess enlisted in the Army to gain work experience. She served as a 25U, Signal Support Systems Specialist. 25U’s primary responsibility is to maintain communication on and off the battlefield. The rest is history! Signal Support is where Princess fell in love with all things IT.
The IT field is competitive, and Princess shared, “I want to be as knowledgeable as possible before entering the workforce. Robinson has one of the best MSIS programs in the country. There are elite professors and a number of opportunities and internships to step into before I graduate. Robinson also offers a number of boot camps in cybersecurity that will be instrumental in building my resume.”
Princess enrolled in the Master of Science in Information Systems program with a concentration in cybersecurity in 2019. Upon graduation, she hopes to work in government to continue serving the United States.
“I’ve always wanted to attend Georgia State. Atlanta is my hometown! But what really drew me was the school’s military history. J. Mack Robinson is a military veteran and had the same exact job as I did in the military. He’s from signal, and that was paramount to me taking the jump and applying to the program.”
When asked what her son thinks about the future transition, she shared that “My son is super supportive. He’s a 13-year-old all-star basketball player, and he has always been my biggest cheerleader when it comes to achieving my dreams and being successful. I’m excited to show him what it means to work hard and have it pay off.”
Princess currently recruits for the Georgia National Guard out of Kennesaw.
