Alexandria Carswell, Master of Global Hospitality Management
Why did you choose Robinson for your graduate education?
I was originally on the fence about pursuing a graduate degree. However, with the career goals I want to achieve, l realized I need to take my knowledge to the next level. After I looked into the curriculum of Robinson's Master of Global Hospitality Management, I knew the program would provide me with all the tools I need to excel.
How will the degree propel your career goals?
This degree will allow me to transition from the hotel and airline industries into the event management sector. Learning about the industry on a global level will propel me closer to my goal of taking my experience abroad.
What unique background and perspectives will you bring to classroom discussions?
By working as a corporate travel consultant and in front office operations, I have learned key tools for providing the best customer experience. I know how to personalize services and products to retain customers, attract new customers, and encourage customers to utilize more services.
What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
The biggest risk I’ve taken was transitioning into a new role. After working in the hotel sector for some time, I decided I wanted to gain experience in the airline industry. With that, I had to take a pay cut during a 12-week training to prepare me for my new role as a corporate travel consultant. Subsequently, it allowed me to expand my background and placed me closer to my goal of having experience in every aspect of the industry.
