Riyazh Dholakia, dual MBA/M.S. in Analytics
software consultant, Capgemini
Why did you choose Robinson for your graduate education?
I chose Robinson for many reasons. Robinson has outstanding recognition across the country and is internationally ranked in many different categories. Additionally, Robinson students experience outstanding success, especially after graduation; plus, the student body is exceptionally diverse. Robinson is one of the few universities that offer dual graduate degrees. This opportunity will fast track my education and maximize my time at Robinson. Lastly, I am a Georgia State alumnus and would love to come back to my community.
How will the degree propel your career goals?
My journey to complete an MBA/M.S. in Analytics dual degree will help me seek new challenges and opportunities after working at Capgemini for a significant amount of time. I hope to transition into a managerial role and bring a different perspective and skillset back to Capgemini.
What unique background and perspectives will you bring to classroom discussions?
I received a B.S. in computer science and currently work as a software consultant at Capgemini. My expertise and diverse perspective in heavy technical knowledge will help me engage in classroom discussions on how various technologies are impacting topics and industries in the real world.
What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
Taking risks can be challenging because with them come high rewards or losses. I took a semester off from my undergraduate degree to complete a 9-week iOS training to help me build iPhone apps using Swift and XCode. Taking this risk pushed my graduation timeline back, but the opportunity was rewarding. It opened up many internship opportunities and offered me a different perspective on developing software.
