Celebrating at the undergraduate commencement ceremony on Dec. 17.
“The world certainly looks different today than it did when you started your studies, and this surely is not the graduation you envisioned,” said Richard Phillips, dean of the Robinson College, in prerecorded remarks that aired during the ceremonies.
“Midway through spring, when courses shifted to learning at a distance, each of you took it in stride. Finishing your degree during a pandemic was unexpected and provides a ready example of your ability to flex and be agile,” which Phillips encouraged the graduates to share when interviewers ask how adaptable they are.
Phillips encouraged the newly minted graduates to remain active in the life of the college and the university.
“Stay in touch with your career counselor, get involved in alumni affairs, or attend a Georgia State networking event. There are 80,000 Robinson College alumni, many of whom live in the Atlanta area. You will not find a larger or more powerful network of business school alumni in this region. You will also not find a more helpful group of individuals – so don’t be shy.”
