Bermuda Railway Trek
We are pleased to announce the 18th annual Bermuda Railway Trek will take place on Tuesday April 19, 2022. Given the current environment and travel restrictions, we are still hoping that the situation will allow a gathering in Bermuda. Organizers are keenly interested in continuing the tradition and spirit of this event by having a contingency plan of holding a walk in Atlanta at the same time as we are holding the walk in Bermuda. The Bermuda Trek is optimistic that the bridges at Flatts Village will be finished in time for the April 19 date. The 2020 Atlanta segment, met at the Beltline and walked to Piedmont Park and would follow a similar path.
Please note a detailed email will follow for participants outlining additional details. As you might suspect, there will be some necessary changes from years past to ensure that all COVID protocols are followed. Donations are also welcome even if you are not able to participate in the walk this year. Remember, no donation amount is too small. Donation information is included on the form and can be made via the following link and selecting the Bermuda fund (https://app.etapestry.com/cart/RiskManagementFoundation/default/index.php)

As many of you know, the annual event was founded in 2004 by Gary Meggs and Greg McCollister to raise money to support insurance-related studies for young Bermudians. The walk supports Bermudians who pursue a Risk Management or Actuarial Science undergraduate degree at Georgia State University (GSU) in Atlanta, Georgia. GSU has the largest dedicated risk management program in the United States. It is ranked #1 in Actuarial Science Research for the second straight year and is the #4 ranked Undergraduate RMI program in the country per US News and World Report. Bermuda College and Georgia State University have an articulation agreement that recognizes Bermuda College credits that transfer.
To date the fund has awarded in excess of $230,000 in undergraduate scholarships. We need YOU to help continue our fundraising efforts, and we look forward to your participation in this year’s Railway Trek!
