SCHOLARSHIPS
Awarded by the Dean's Office
Scholarships awarded by the Dean’s Office are available for fall semester only. Many scholarships require you to complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) to document financial need. Please submit that documentation to the Financial Aid office, not the Office of the Dean. International students do not fill out FAFSA, but are eligible to apply for scholarships.
The application period for all Dean’s Office Scholarships in the Robinson College of Business for Spring is open through March 20.
Complete the application now and be considered for Spring Scholarships awarded in April and Fall Scholarships awarded in July.
Andrew C. and Eula C. Carlos Fund
Established in 1998 by Mr. and Mrs. Carlos to provide support to students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- High school GPA of 3.0 for entering freshmen
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Ann-Marie Campbell Scholarship
Established in 2013 by GSU alumna Ann-Marie Campbell to provide financial support for students majoring in any discipline within the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate
- Must be in good academic standing
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
The Arasin Entrepreneurship Scholarship
Established in 2019 by Michael Arasin, alumnus and founder of Fulcrum Construction, to provide scholarship support to students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business who have declared a major in entrepreneurship and are at the sophomore or higher level.
Criteria
- Be in good academic standing.
- Have a current 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Have reached the sophomore or higher level and are majoring in entrepreneurship.
- Have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
Ashley and Bill Rogers Opportunity Scholarship
Established in 2017 by Georgia State alumnus William H. Rogers, Jr. and his wife Ashley S. Rogers to provide support for students majoring in any discipline within the J. Mack Robinson College to complete their academic careers at Georgia State University.
Criteria
- Undergraduate
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must have outstanding character and demonstrated academic achievement
- Must have demonstrated volunteer/community service activity
- Must demonstrate potential for a career in business
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Baker Family Distinguished Student Award
Established in 2015 by alumnus Ed Baker, this scholarship provides support to an undergraduate or graduate student in the Robinson College whose academic achievement, initiative, persistence, character and integrity indicate outstanding potential for future success.
Criteria
- Must be in good academic standing
- Demonstrated outstanding academic achievement
- Requires an essay on your personal and professional goals post-program, and how receiving this scholarship impacts your long-term future goals
- Requires nomination letter from a faculty member in the Robinson College of Business
Balsano Family Scholarship
Established in 2016 by Armand Balsano and his family, including son Richard Balsano who is a Georgia State alumnus, to provide financial support for students majoring in any discipline within the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate
- Must be in good academic standing
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Barkat Charania Scholarship
Established in 2013 by GSU alumnus Rahim Charania in honor of his father Barkat Charania, whose greatest passion is for increasing the availability for young people to receive a quality education.

- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher

The Chopra Entrepreneurship Scholarship
Established in 2018 by alumnus Andy Chopra and his wife Arin Chopra to support students in the Robinson College of Business who have declare a major in, or have demonstrated an interest in entrepreneurship.
Criteria
- Must be in good academic standing
- Minimum GPA 3.0 or higher
- Currently studying or demonstrated interest in Entrepreneurship
- Sophomore level student or higher
- First preference given to students who are first in their family to attend college
Chris Yannopoulos Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1975 by Mr. Michael C. Carlos in memory of Chris Yannopoulos to benefit students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Must be a legal resident of the State of Georgia in good standing and have need for financial assistance
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Connie and Ken McDaniel Scholarship
Established in 2012 by GSU alumni Connie and Ken McDaniel to provide financial support for accounting majors in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate accounting major
- Must be in good academic standing
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 and above
Dave R. Forquer Annual Scholarship
Established in 2020 by Chantal and Tommy Bagwell to honor Dave Forquer’s distinguished service as Assistant Dean of the Robinson College of Business. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, with preference granted to those who reside in or graduated from a Forsyth or Hall County High School.
Criteria
- Enrolled full-time and be in good standing in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University;
- Have financial need;
- Have a minimum 2.5 GPA;
- Preference will be granted to students who reside in, or graduated from a Forsyth or Hall County High School.
- Each scholarship recipient will sign a statement in which they promise to be charitable in their lifetime when their circumstances allow.
Dr. David Ewert Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2021 by alumnus William D. (Dick) Rose in honor of his mentor Dr. David Ewert, this scholarship is meant to encourage undergraduate students at the Robinson College of Business to continue their studies.
Criteria
- Be in good academic standing
- Have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid
David A. Stonecipher Scholarship
Established in 2016 by McKenney’s Inc. to honor Georgia State alumnus David A. Stonecipher’s long and distinguished service on McKenney’s board of directors. This scholarship provides financial support to students majoring in actuarial science.
Criteria
- Undergraduate actuarial science major
- Must be in good academic standing
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Dr. David J. Schwartz Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2013 through a lead gift from GSU alumnus Lamar Smith and other GSU alumni and friends in memory of Dr. David A. Schwartz. Dr. Schwartz was a professor of marketing in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business and was considered a leading American authority on motivation.

- Undergraduate marketing major
- Must be in good academic standing
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above

Edith and Tim Twomey Scholarship
Established in 2012 by GSU alumni Edie and Tim Twomey to provide financial support for accounting majors in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above

Edwin and Marion Pauli Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2021 by alumna Debra Pauli in memory of her parents Edwin and Marion Pauli to provide scholarship support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, with preference being given to first-generation students.
Criteria
- Be in good academic standing.
- Have a current 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
- Preference will be given to first-generation college students.
Georgia's Own Foundation/John B. White, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2018 by Georgia's Own Foundation to support undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must be an undergraduate sophomore or higher student majoring in any discipline
- Must be a resident of Georgia
- Must be a first-generation college student
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
The Hill We Climb Scholarship
Established in 2021 by Susan Kost in honor of National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman, who lifted the spirit of a nation with her words during an hour of great need, reminding us perseverance and optimism are at the heart of who we are as Americans. Every day we are called upon to step up and step into our futures and to lead with purpose, kindness, and conviction. This scholarship will support students who have experienced or are experiencing home insecurity.

Homer R. Hannah Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1990 by the Hannah Family in memory of Homer R. Hannah, an alumnus of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

- Undergraduate junior or senior in good standing
- Cumulative 2.5 GPA
- Not eligible for other financial assistance based on outstanding scholastic or athletic abilities
- Resident of the State of Georgia
- Strong drive and commitment to complete education

Howard S. & Marie H. Starks Scholarship
Established by Mr. Starks in 1992 to provide financial support for deserving students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

- Undergraduate junior or senior
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Completed 50 credit hours in degree program
- Possess strong drive and commitment to complete education

John F. Euart, Jr. Family Scholarship
The John F. Euart, Jr. Family Scholarship was established in 2013 by GSU alumnus John F. Euart, Jr. to provide financial support for deserving students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate real estate major
- Be in good academic standing, with a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Joseph L. Walker Scholarship
Established in 2016 by Joseph L. Walker to provide support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business who are pursuing a degree in real estate.

Julio René Diaz and Diaz Foods Scholarship
Originally established in 2012 by alumnus René Diaz as the Diaz Foods Scholarship, the scholarship was renamed in 2014 to honor the memory of Mr. Diaz’s father, Julio René Diaz. The scholarship is now known as the Julio René Diaz and Diaz Foods Scholarship, and provides support for an undergraduate student majoring in any discipline within the Robinson College of Business.

- Preference will be given to Hispanic/Latino students who meet criteria for the scholarship

KPMG/John T. Zellner Scholarship in Actuarial Science
Friends and colleagues at KPMG LLP established this scholarship to honor John "Jay" Thomas Zellner Sr., who passed away in 2013. Mr. Zellner was a director of KPMG in the Atlanta office and held a BBA from GSU.

- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher

Louis Samuel Brooke, Jr. Scholarship
Established through the Estate of Louis Samuel Brooke, Jr. to benefit students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

- Must have completed at least one year of study at Georgia State University
Mills B. Lane/Bank of America Scholarship
Established in 1997 as the Mills B. Lane/Nationsbank (now Bank of America Scholarship) to benefit students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Full-time student status

Dr. Neda A. Barqawi and Dr. Khalil Hamied Scholarship
Established in 2016 by Georgia State alumna Neda Barqawi to provide financial support for students majoring in any discipline within the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

Nicholas and Anne Marie Shreiber Scholarship
Established in 2011 by Mr. and Mrs. Shreiber, who are friends of Georgia State University, to provide financial support for deserving students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Mr. Shreiber is an honorary alumnus of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate student in good standing with a minimum GPA of 3.3 or greater.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of the State of Georgia.
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Northern Trust Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2021 by Northern Trust, whose believes that students from all backgrounds can achieve academic and career success at high levels. In recognition of the fact that financial need is still the largest barrier to success in college, Northern Trust is providing scholarship support to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the Robinson College of Business demonstrating academic merit and financial need.

- Be in good academic standing.
- Have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
Patterson Real Estate Advisory Group Scholarship
Established in 2021 by the Patterson Real Estate Advisory Group to provide scholarship support to students of color studying Real Estate at the J. Mack Robinson (JMR) College of Business who have outstanding character, demonstrate academic achievement and are active in the community.
Criteria
- Be an undergraduate level junior or senior majoring in Real Estate in the JMR College of Business
- Be in good academic standing
- Have a current 3.0 or higher GPA
Phyllis L. Parker Scholarship
Established in 2011 by Ms. Parker, a GSU alumna, to provide financial support for students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate
- Preference is given to a first-generation college student.
- Student must have at least one parent who emigrated to the U.S. from a foreign country and became a naturalized citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be in good standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Pickett Riggs Scholarship
Established by the Young Alumni Council of the Georgia State University Alumni Association upon retirement of faculty member Pickett Riggs, to provide support for students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate or graduate
- Minimum 3.5 GPA
- 75 credit hours at GSU
- Demonstrated leadership abilities at GSU
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid
The Richard E. Thompson Scholarship
Established in 2021 by alumnus and Dodge County native Richard E. Thompson, the purpose of this scholarship is to provide need-based scholarship support to J. Mack Robinson College of Business students who are graduates of Dodge County High School.
Criteria
- Have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
- Be a graduate of Dodge County High School.
- Need not demonstrate academic merit as a high school student, and can even have less than typical academic achievement for their first year of scholarship benefit, but should demonstrate academic achievement in subsequent years if the scholarship is renewed.
The Robert B. Bailey, Jr. Empowerment Scholarship
Established in 2020 by Teri L. Bailey to honor the legacy of her husband Robert Bruce Bailey, Jr., who had a life-long love of learning. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate or graduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, with special consideration given to students who have demonstrated experience and a commitment to working with or working within historically underserved or underprivileged populations.

Robert S. Williford EB Medicine Scholarship
Established in 2016 by Georgia State alumna Stephanie A. Williford to honor her late father, Georgia State alumnus Robert S. Williford, who founded EB Medicine in 2001. This scholarship provides financial support for students majoring in any discipline within the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

- Minimum 3.0 GPA

Roger W. Lusby, III Scholarship
Established in 2021 by alumnus Roger Lusby, Managing Partner at Frazier & Deeter, to provide scholarship support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Be in good academic standing.
- Have a current 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
The Salamanca Scholarship
Established in 2019 by alumni Paul Salamanca and Daniela Ramirez to support students in the Robinson College of Business who have declared a major in Entrepreneurship or demonstrate an interest in Entrepreneurship.
Criteria
- Must be in good academic standing
- Minimum GPA 3.0 or higher
- Currently studying or demonstrated interest in Entrepreneurship
- Must be a first-generation college student
- Demonstrate leadership in service to the Hispanic community
The Shulman Family Scholarship
Established in 2017 by the estate of Georgia State alumnus Robert H. Shulman to provide support to students majoring in any discipline in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
- All things being equal, preference will be given to students who have contributed to Jewish life or study either during high school or while attending Georgia State University.
Sorrells Family Scholarship
Alumna Carole Powell Sorrells and her husband Michael established this scholarship in 2015. The scholarship provides support for an undergraduate student majoring in computer information systems in the Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate
- Attended a high school in the state of Georgia
- Junior level or above computer information systems major
- GPA of 3.0 or above in major
- Must complete FAFSA with the financial aid office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
State Farm Insurance Companies Scholarship
Established in 2015 by State Farm Insurance Companies to provide support for juniors and seniors in the Robinson College of Business majoring in marketing, accounting, finance, risk science, computer information systems, actuarial science or business economics.
Criteria
- Undergraduate junior or senior majoring in marketing, accounting, finance, risk science, computer information systems, actuarial science or business economics.
- Must be in good academic standing
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
Stuart Schwarzschild Scholarship
Established in 2013 by Stuart Schwarzschild, Ph.D, who was an emeritus professor of risk science at Robinson.
Criteria
- Undergraduate
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Have completed at least two years of college credit and be in the top 10% of his/her class
- Participation actively and creditably in employment, civic or charitable volunteerism, athletics, ROTC, or similar non-academic activities
- Submit a short essay
- Provide three references who can attest to the applicant's initiative, persistence, character and integrity
Susan A.J. Wilson Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2018 by Susan A.J. Wilson to provide support for undergraduate students who are majoring in accounting within the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

- Must be in good academic standing
- Must be an undergraduate student majoring in accounting
- Minimum GPA 3.0
- Must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) with the Financial Aid Office. This award requires recipients to have a financial need as documented by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Tasca A. Moore Scholarship
Established in 1973 by Mr. Moore to provide support for students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Undergraduate
- Preference will be given to students with C average or 2.0 GPA
- Preference will be given to students majoring in accounting or finance.
- Preference will be given to students who are citizens of Melanesian, Polynesian or Asiatic countries.
Timmons Family Scholarship
Established in 2015 by alumnus Charles M. “Chuck” Timmons to provide scholarship support for students pursuing a degree in risk science at Robinson.
Criteria
- Be in good academic standing.
- Have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
TP and Nancy Hall Business Scholarship
Established in 2021 by alumni TP and Nancy Hall to assist young people, specifically first-generation college students in a successful start at building an accomplished professional career in business.

- Have a current 3.0 or higher GPA
- Preference will be given to students who are identified as first generation
Wells Fargo - J. Mack Robinson College of Business Scholarship
Originally established by Wachovia Foundation, this scholarship was renamed the Wells Fargo – J. Mack Robinson College of Business Scholarship in 2015. The scholarship provides support to an undergraduate student majoring in any discipline within the Robinson College of Business.

The Bikulege Family Foundation Master's Fellowship
Established in 2021 by M.B.A. alums Stan and Paula Bikulege, the Bikulege Family Foundation Master's Fellowship in Business provides support to master's level student(s) enrolled in or incoming to the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. Paula and Stan are driven by one simple passion - to help others. This gift speaks to the family's passion to give back in the areas of faith, family, and community.

- Be an incoming student admitted into one of the master's programs in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
- Demonstrate high standards of academic achievement as determined by the selection committee.

Chris Yannopoulos Memorial Scholarship

Executive MBA Alumni Club Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2019 by the EMBA Alumni Club Board of Directors in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Executive MBA Program, to benefit EMBA candidates at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Criteria
- Be in good academic standing and participating in the EMBA Program at GSU.

Northern Trust Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2021 by Northern Trust, whose believes that students from all backgrounds can achieve academic and career success at high levels. In recognition of the fact that financial need is still the largest barrier to success in college, Northern Trust is providing scholarship support to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the Robinson College of Business demonstrating academic merit and financial need.

Pickett Riggs Scholarship
Established by the Young Alumni Council of the Georgia State University Alumni Association upon retirement of faculty member Pickett Riggs, to provide support for students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

- 75 credit hours at GSU
- Demonstrated leadership abilities at GSU

The Robert B. Bailey, Jr. Empowerment Scholarship
Established in 2020 by Teri L. Bailey to honor the legacy of her husband Robert Bruce Bailey, Jr., who had a life-long love of learning. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate or graduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, with special consideration given to students who have demonstrated experience and a commitment to working with or working within historically underserved or underprivileged populations.

The Shulman Family Scholarship
Established in 2017 by the estate of Georgia State alumnus Robert H. Shulman to provide support to students majoring in any discipline in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

Scholarships Offered through the Institute of International Business
The Institute of International Business offers many scholarships to help students fund their study abroad experiences.
The purpose of this fund is to provide support to Robinson College of Business undergraduate students, in good standing, to pursue a study abroad program. Students should have no previous international travel experience.
Preference will be given to students enrolled in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business and to students who have no previous study abroad experience.
This scholarship, established in 1990, is awarded to support the internationalization efforts of undergraduate students of the Robinson College of Business.

The Coca-Cola Global Ambassadors Scholarship is open to first generation college students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at GSU and to students who have no previous study abroad experience.

Atlanta Concierge Society Kevin Roach Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship, in memory of a dedicated and stellar hospitality professional, Kevin Roach, and funded by the professional association for hotel concierges in Atlanta, is presented to a hospitality major who has hospitality career aspirations and has demonstrated a commitment to quality service. Selection is also based on academic achievement, work experience and extracurricular involvement.
Atlanta Hospitality Alliance Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Atlanta Hospitality Alliance. This Alliance provides a forum for networking and professional development for Atlanta-area hotel owners, developers, operators, franchisors and professional service providers. This scholarship is presented to a hospitality major based on career interest in hotel development or management, academic achievement, school and community involvement, and work experience.
Cecil B. Day Scholarship in Hospitality Achievement
This scholarship was established in memory of the founder of Days Inn and the namesake of the School of Hospitality. It is presented to a hospitality major based on academic achievement, school and community involvement and work experience.
Hotel Equities Scholarship
Located in Atlanta, Hotel Equities is a full service hotel management company, providing awarding-winning management, development and consulting for hotels throughout the United States. The founder of Hotel Equities is GSU alumnus, Fred Cerrone. This scholarship is based on academic achievement, career goals, work experience and school and community involvement.
Hunter Realty Scholarship in Hotel Development
This scholarship was established by Hunter Realty, a leading hotel broker since 1978. In addition to recognizing academic performance and work experience, preference is given to students with career plans in hotel development and double-majors in hospitality and real estate or finance.
The Hyatt Regency Atlanta Hospitality Leadership Scholarship
This scholarship was established through a partnership by Hyatt Regency Atlanta for the hotel’s 50th anniversary celebration in May 2017 to provide opportunities for young leaders pursuing degrees in hospitality.
Margaret Lupo Scholarship in Restaurant Management
The Margaret Lupo Scholarship in Restaurant Management is in memory of Margaret Lupo, founder and owner of Mary Mac's Tea Room. Margaret Lupo was a leading restaurant entrepreneur and known for her southern hospitality. It is awarded to a student who is majoring in hospitality with a restaurant management focus. Selection is also based on academic achievement, work experience and restaurant industry involvement.
North Point Hospitality Group Scholarship
North Point Hospitality Group, Inc., based in Atlanta, was founded in 1978 by JK Patel. The company owns, develops, and manages brand defining hotels in key business markets and leisure destinations. JK Patel’s son, S. Jay Patel, is the President and CEO of North Point. Under his leadership, the company has experienced significant growth to their portfolio based on the philosophy of being in the best markets with the best brands at the best locations. This scholarship is based on academic achievement, hotel career aspirations, work experience and leadership in student organizations.
Robert R. King Memorial Scholarship in Hospitality & Tourism
This scholarship is in memory of Robert King, a leader in Georgia’s hospitality industry as president of the Georgia Hospitality and Travel Association. It is presented to a hospitality major based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, and work experience.
Spurgeon Richardson Scholarship in Hospitality Leadership
This scholarship is in honor of Spurgeon Richardson, a well-known leader in Atlanta’s hospitality community. Richardson served as president and CEO of the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau for 17 years. In this role, he positioned tourism as one of the city’s top economic drivers and helped Atlanta develop into a world-class city. This scholarship is presented to a hospitality major based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, and work experience.
The Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Science awards approximately $360,000 in merit-based scholarships each year to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in our programs.
Leadership Scholarships
Amwins Student Leadership Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2022 to grant scholarships to students who are interested in a career in the insurance brokerage business and can meet the following criteria:
- Be in good academic standing at GSU with a GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Be a current sophomore level student or higher level student enrolled in the M. R. Greenberg School of Risk Science as a pre-major or major.
- Have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the GSU Office of Financial Aid or the Scholarship Committee (as defined below).
- Demonstrate a skill set and/or interest in pursuing a career as a Broker.
This scholarship will provide financial assistance for 3 to 5 students ($5,000 to $15,000 per year). Scholarship recipients will be eligible to apply for summer internships as well as seasonal employment administered solely by Amwins Brokerage. Scholarships are renewable subject to maintaining good academic standing.
Students should designate the Amwins Brokerage Scholarship on their application.
Guy Millner Scholars Program
This scholarship endowment was established in 2021 by Guy Millner and will grant scholarships to students who are interested in a career in the insurance business and can meet the following criteria:
- Freshman -level students enrolled in an RMI department programs as a pre-major or major
- Be in good academic standing at GSU with a GPA of 2.7 or higher
- Have demonstrated financial need
This scholarship will provide financial assistance for students (up to $20,000 per year). Scholarship recipients will be eligible to apply for summer internships as well as seasonal employment administered solely by AssuranceAmerica. Scholarships are renewable, subject to maintaining good academic standing.

Two outstanding accounting students receive a scholarship in honor of William Lee Burge. A native Atlantan, William Lee Burge started working as a teenager in the mailroom of the Retail Credit Company and later rose to become the company’s Chairman of the Board. The company is known today as Equifax.
Bergeron Women in Technology Leadership Scholarships
The Bergeron scholarship is awarded to first-year, junior-level undergraduate female students studying computer information systems or computer science who have expressed or demonstrated high potential for leadership careers in technology. The scholarship-mentorship program provides for a tuition award and a one-on-one mentor relationship with a leader from the technology industry. Jeff and Sherry Hwang Scholarship
The Jeff and Sherry Hwang Scholarship provides scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students in good standing who are enrolled in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Department of Computer Information Systems who speak Mandarin and have an appreciation for Taiwanese culture.
Cotterman Outstanding Student Award
Each year, the Department of Computer Information Systems honors the graduate student in the Master of Science in Information Systems program with the most outstanding academic record. The award is named for William W. Cotterman, the first chairman of the CIS department at Georgia State University. Winners receive a cash award, and their names are engraved on a plaque that hangs in the CIS department lobby.
Rozelle Outstanding Programmer Award
Each year, the Department of Computer Information Systems honors the undergraduate student with the most outstanding academic record in the programming courses. The award is named for James P. Rozelle, a former department faculty member. Winners receive a cash award, and their names are engraved on a plaque that hangs in the CIS department lobby.
Evelyn S. Bowyer Memorial Scholarship
Endowed in memory of Evelyn S. Bowyer, alumna and longtime Georgia State employee, by family, friends and colleagues, this award is given to an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in finance. Criteria include classroom performance, work experience and leadership skills.
H. Talmage Dobbs, Jr. Outstanding Finance Student Award
This award is named after Mr. H. Talmage Dobbs Jr., past chairman of the board of Life of Georgia and a Georgia State alum. The award is presented to the outstanding undergraduate finance major over the past year. Criteria include classroom performance and recommendations from past instructors.
Jack Dunn Scholarship
This award is given to an undergraduate finance major in honor of Jack Dunn, former commissioner of banking and finance for the State of Georgia. Recipients are chosen based on academic performance.
John M. Dyer First Generation Finance Scholarship
Established in 2013 by alumnus John M. Dyer to provide scholarship support to first generation undergraduate students in the Department of Finance at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

R. C. Williams, M.D., Honor Award
The R. C. Williams, M.D., Honor Award was established to honor the late Dr. Williams, who founded the Hospital Administration program at GSU in 1952. The award is given to the graduate student in the Institute of Health Administration demonstrating outstanding leadership in the profession through university, community and work-related endeavors.
R. J. Knobel Scholarship
This scholarship was established upon Dr. Roland "Knob" Knobel's retirement in 1985, after teaching in the institute since 1970. This award is given to MHA students based on academic performance, and recognizes those who have achieved distinction through professional and community activities.
Max G. Holland Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is presented annually to the student with the highest grade-point average after completing at least 30 hours in the CAHME-accredited graduate program in health administration. The scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Max Holland, who was on the faculty of the institute from 1976 to 1989.
AUPHA/McGaw Scholar
This scholarship is awarded by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) to students in an accredited graduate health administration program who have distinguished themselves in the profession.
Norman R. Harbaugh Scholastic Achievement Award
Presented to the most outstanding managerial sciences major in the MBA program based on academic achievement, potential for leadership, and service to the university and the community.
Carl A. Bramlette, Jr. Scholastic Achievement Award

Awarded to the outstanding undergraduate student displaying exceptional analytical skills, this scholarship is given in memory of the founder of the Department of Decision Sciences and the first president of the Decision Sciences Institute. It is based on academic achievement, potential for leadership, and service to the university and community.
Ken Bernhardt Chick-fil-A Scholarship Fund
Endowed in 2012 to honor the 30-year relationship between Chick-fil-A and Dr. Ken Bernhardt, this scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in marketing with high academic performance, outstanding character, and a high likelihood of a successful career in marketing. Preference will be given to students who are employed, or previously employed, by Chick-fil-A. One scholarship of $1,000 is awarded per year.
Marketing RoundTable Outstanding Minority Student Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to underrepresented minority students currently enrolled in a marketing course who are pursuing a degree in marketing with high academic standing and a high expectation of success in pursuing a career in marketing. Qualified students will have a minimum grade-point average of 3.0., and be nominated and supported by marketing faculty members. A maximum of six scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded per year.
Martin Sherry/Atlanta Broadcast Advertising Club Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an exceptional student in advertising in Robinson's marketing department. Criteria include academic scholarship, interest and talent in the field, leadership, and character. Specifically, the scholarship is awarded based on genuine financial need and scholastic achievement (3.0 GPA in major). Recipients must be Georgia residents who will not have graduated when the scholarship is received. One scholarship of $1,000 is awarded per year.
Richard Hammill Outstanding Marketing Student Scholarship
This scholarship was created to honor Richard Hammill, past senior vice president of marketing at The Home Depot. Recipients of the award must be currently majoring in marketing, have demonstrated financial need, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and show a high potential for a successful career in marketing. One scholarship of $1,000 is awarded per year.
Sales Executive Roundtable (SERT) Scholarship and Stephen P. Young Scholarship
These scholarships are awarded annually to undergraduate students majoring in marketing. Consideration will be given to currently registered students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, having completed at least one (1) course in sales and expressing an interest in pursuing a career in sales. These scholarships require that students demonstrate high academic achievement and basic sales competencies as required for qualification for national sales competition. One of each scholarship is awarded in the amount of $1,000 per year.
Dr. Colquitt L. "Buck" Chandler Jr. Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. Colquitt L. "Buck" Chandler Jr. Memorial Scholarship was established by the CLC Foundation in memory of Dr. Chandler, a successful Atlanta dentist, real estate investor and philanthropist. The scholarship is awarded to a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Real Estate, selected by a committee that includes the department chair.
Georgia CCIM Bob White CCIM Scholarship
Funded by the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute, the scholarship is given annually to one real estate major planning a career in commercial real estate. The selection criteria include academic achievement, extracurricular activities, communication skills and professional commitment.
John H. Cowart Scholarship
Funded by an endowment established by John H. Cowart, Sr. (John H. Cowart Properties, Inc.), this award is given annually to one or more real estate graduate or undergraduate students to pursue promising research under the direction of faculty in the Department of Real Estate. Both merit and need of candidates are evaluated.
Dexter & Karen Warrior Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded by Dexter and Karen Warrior to an undergraduate or graduate student who has outstanding performance in the field of real estate.
E. A. Isakson Scholarship
This scholarship established by the Atlanta Board of Realtors is in honor of Mr. Ed A. Isakson, past president of the Atlanta Board of Realtors. One or more scholarships will be provided each year for outstanding students majoring in real estate. The criteria for selection are need, scholastic achievement and expression of a sincere interest in a professional career in real estate.
International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Undergraduate Real Estate Award
This annual scholarship award by the ICSC Foundation is given to a junior or senior enrolled in an undergraduate real estate program who displays excellence academically and exhibits a career interest in the retail real estate sector.
Mrs. Josephine J. Isakson Scholarship
This scholarship is presented in memory of a prominent Atlanta-area real estate family to recognize superior academic achievement and potential. It may be awarded to either a graduate or an undergraduate student.
Sonenshine Family Real Estate Scholarship
Established in 2019 by alumnus Stanley Sonenshine and his wife Deborah, to benefit undergraduate or graduate Real Estate students at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business who have outstanding character, demonstrate academic achievement, and are active in their community.
Criteria
- Be in good academic standing.
- Have a 3.0 or higher GPA and are currently majoring in Real Estate.
- Have received a nomination from a Real Estate faculty member.
- Have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
Mrs. Tommy Jackson Scholarship
This fund provides scholarships to deserving students engaged in the study of real estate at Georgia State University.
Warwick/Diaz Doctoral Scholarship
This fund provides support to doctoral students in good standing in Robinson's Department of Real Estate.
Wolverton Doctoral Scholarship
This scholarship provides an annual award to fund the attendance and presentation of a paper by a qualified doctoral student at the annual meeting of either the American Real Estate Society or the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association.
American Family Insurance WomenLead Scholarship
Established in 2020 by American Family Insurance as part of their commitment to inspiring, protecting and restoring dreams – but most of all, to equality. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business who have participated in the WomenLead program.

Cassi Makani Wimmingham Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2016 by Beth Johnston in memory of her niece, to provide the opportunity for other young women to realize their full potential. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business who have participated in the WomenLead program.

Cochran/Schachter WomenLead Scholarship
Established in 2020 by GSU alumna Delia Cochran to honor her friend and former colleague, GSU alumna Sharon Schachter. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business who have participated in the WomenLead program.

The Committee of 200 WomenLead Scholarship Fund
Established in 2021 by The Committee of 200, an organization of the world's most successful women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders, to provide financial support to students participating in the WomenLead program.

- Be in good academic standing at Georgia State University
- Have a 3.0 or higher GPA
Dugald Hudson & Nancy R. Mansfield Scholarship
Established in 2017 by Nancy and Laurence Mansfield in memory of Dugald Hudson, professor emeritus of legal studies and risk science. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students who are participating in the WomenLead program in the Georgia State University Honors College.
Criteria
- Be in good academic standing in the Honors College
- Have completed or be currently enrolled in the required WomenLead class
- Submit a detailed proposal about use of scholarship to promote yourself
- Complete the WomenLead Scholarship Application
Enid Draluck Women Lead Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2019 by Merle Hoch, in honor of her niece Enid Draluck’s 60th birthday. Merle wishes for the Enid Draluck WomenLead Endowed Scholarship to positively impact the lives of deserving students pursuing a business degree and enrolled in the WomenLead program. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business who have participated in the WomenLead program.

Harry and Mary Meinhardt WomenLead Scholarship
Established in 2019 by Erika Meinhardt in honor of her parents and their commitment to providing an education not only for their children but for many others through their lifetime of giving. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business who have participated in the WomenLead program.

Karen L. Linhart Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2019 by Karen Linhart as a way of giving back by providing financial aid to the next generation of students that desire a college education and do not have the financial resources to achieve their goals. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business who have participated in the WomenLead program, with preference given to students pursuing a STEM related major who are US citizens or permanent residents.

Pioneer Founders and Leaders Scholarship
Established in 2018 by Beverley Clark to honor the early faculty of Robinson College, including her late father, Stuart Schwarzschild, Ph.D. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business who have participated in the WomenLead program, with preference given to students majoring in actuarial science, risk science, finance, or computer information systems.

Dr. Risa Palm WomenLead Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2019 by the Women’s Philanthropy Network to honor Dr. Risa Palm’s distinguished service as Provost of Georgia State University.
