The Certificate in Risk Management and Insurance explores the principles of insurance provides an overview of commercial and personal insurance coverages, and teaches the fundamentals of business risk management. Besides students who major in risk management and insurance, many students from other business and liberal arts majors enter insurance and make it their careers in this $2 trillion industry, working in a variety of roles based on personal interests regardless of college major. The insurance industry continues to be a strong job market for undergraduate students and the certificate should instigate more students to consider the industry for careers regardless of college major.
Students from all Georgia State University colleges and majors can now obtain a 4-course certificate in risk management and insurance in the Greenberg School of Risk Sciences (formerly Department of Risk Management & Insurance), in addition to their existing major.
