TEACHING CERTIFICATE
Teacher Developmental Program for Executive DBA Students
More B-schools are seeking professionals with industry experience and a doctoral degree. Many DBA students and alumni express interest in transitioning from industry to academia either part-time or full-time; however, most students have little or no university teaching experience. Therefore, the DBA program provides students a voluntary opportunity to participate in a three day teaching workshop during their fifth semester.
The course presents empirical-based research on how to improve student learning and student evaluation of instructors. It maximizes student involvement by integrating lectures, hands-on exercises, and short homework assignments. DBA students successfully completing all modules will receive a certificate for successful completion of the Teacher Developmental Program at Georgia State University.
Participation in this course is voluntary in students’ fifth semester and is not part of the Executive DBA curriculum or tuition.
Course Schedule
Offered once per academic year, each Thursday of residency in the months of September, October, and November.
