TEACHING DEVELOPMENT for DBAs
Mastering Teaching – A Program for Executive DBA Students
The DBA program provides students with an opportunity to participate in a three-day workshop on Mastering Teaching. Several B-schools seek Professors of Practice - professionals with industry experience and a doctoral degree. DBA students and alumni interested in transitioning from industry to academia either part-time or full-time, or simply in improving their knowledge of adult learning, will greatly benefit from this opportunity.
The workshop presents you with a framework for teaching backed by empirical research that will help you to continuously improve teaching skills throughout your career. We will discuss all aspects of teaching, including course organization, interactive lectures, active learning methods, testing, and evaluation. DBA students successfully completing all modules will receive a certificate for successful completion of the Teacher Development Program at Georgia State University.
Participation in this course is voluntary in students’ fifth semester and is not part of the Executive DBA curriculum or tuition.
