Executive in Residence, Non-Tenure Track
The Robinson College of Business (RCB) of Georgia State University (GSU) and the Department of Finance invites applications for an Executive in Residence, non-tenure track faculty position beginning in Fall 2024. Applicants should have well-documented evidence of career success as a business leader at the C-suite level and experience providing high-level classroom instruction including at the graduate level.
Candidates should also possess a strong commitment to developing student skills requisite for having successful careers and towards building corporate relations. The minimum degree requirement is a master’s degree in business or finance.
Direct responsibilities entailed in the position include:
- Teaching
The successful candidate will instill in students a deep understanding of the application of finance to high-level business practice and decision-making, and will be adept at instructing a broad spectrum of students including those at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels. - Corporate Outreach
The successful candidate will provide leadership in bringing faculty, staff and students together with the business community for mutual benefit. - Curriculum and Program Innovation

Further, RCB serves as the host institution for the Georgia FinTech Academy, a public-private partnership that brings together Georgia’s fintech business community with all 26 colleges and universities that make up the University System of Georgia to develop future leaders in the sector through innovative educational programs. Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance
The Robinson College of Business (RCB) of Georgia State University (GSU) and the Department of Finance invites applications for one or more non-tenure track faculty appointments to be effective Fall Semester 2024. The appointment will be at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, however seasoned candidates with records of excellent classroom instruction and established research programs will be considered for the rank of Clinical Associate Professor. An appointment is renewable annually, but is not limited in duration. An earned doctorate in finance or a related discipline is required from an AACSB accredited institution (or similarly accredited international university). In addition to classroom instruction, appointees will be expected to engage in the practicum of finance including the supervision of field study courses and corporate sprints, and to conduct research that includes a component pertaining to finance practice, pedagogy or the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL). Normal faculty service assignments are expected.

Teaching
The successful candidate will (a) demonstrate the ability to engage in high-level classroom instruction including instilling in students an understanding of the underpinnings of finance and their successful application to effective business decision-making, (b) be adept at instructing abroad spectrum of students including those at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and (c) be effective in multiple instructional modalities.
Service
The successful candidate will be expected to assume normal faculty service assignments at the unit and college level, as well as engage in activities that promote student success such as advising student case and portfolio management teams and overseeing student organizations.

The successful candidate will maintain an active research program that includes a component in the areas of finance pedagogy or the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL).

Tenure Track Position (Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Systems Program)
Georgia State University (GSU) is creating a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Augmented Systems Program to develop GSU as a center for excellence in the areas of AI augmented decision-making, collaboration, and digital transformation. As part of the University’s Next Generation Program, this program seeks to recruit multiple faculty members into several departments with interdisciplinary research and teaching interests related to AI Augmented Systems.

The position is open to candidates with an established publication record, who can be hired at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT: Successful applicants will join a group of 6 full-time legal studies faculty and two other attorneys in the Greenberg School of Risk Science (GSRS) who regularly teach legal studies classes in our undergraduate and graduate programs. Our Legal and Ethical Analysis of Business Environments course is required of all undergraduate business majors, and our graduate course, Law, Ethics and Governance is required of all MBA students. In addition, we teach an array of law-related courses in our Business Law Minor, including courses that are cross-listed with courses in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute, the Institute for International Business, and the Department of Economics. Clinical legal studies faculty often collaborate on articles, panels, and paper presentations at regional and national conferences.
Position Description
GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY invites applications for one or more non-tenure-track appointments in Legal Studies, effective for Fall 2025 in the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Science (GSRS) at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Rank is open, but we expect to hire at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) or Clinical Associate Professor (non-tenure track), with an optional opportunity for the right candidate to assume a leadership role in the Legal Studies program. Clinical faculty typically teach a 3-3 load.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
While we welcome applications from candidates in all areas of business law, we would be especially interested in applicants whose work engages issues related to commercial law, entrepreneurship, data privacy, or business ethics. While nearly all of our classes are taught in-person, we also encourage applications from individuals who have taught or are interested in teaching in other formats, including asynchronous classes. In addition to teaching responsibilities, some candidates with more experience in legal studies education may wish to being considered for an optional leadership role within the Legal Studies program, depending on qualifications and experience. This role would involve overseeing the strategic development and administration of the Legal Studies program, coordinating course offerings, and managing faculty and part-time instructors.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with an interest in pursuing teaching and research informed by risk-related business experience or applications. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. or an Executive Doctorate by the time of appointment (or be on track to complete one) in a field relevant to the position such as risk management and insurance, economics, finance, statistics, actuarial science, mathematics, or a related field. We invite applications from candidates who can serve as the program director of our Master’s program in Quantitative Risk Analysis and Management (QRAM), run experiential learning industry engagement student projects, and teach undergraduate and graduate classes at the intersection of econometrics/data analysis, actuarial science, InsurTech, and financial engineering. THE ENVIRONMENT
The mission of the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Science at Georgia State University is to better understand how risks faced by individuals, institutions, and societies can be more accurately measured and more efficiently managed. Faculty members have risk-related research interests including behavioral economics, experimental methods, actuarial science, mathematical finance, econometrics, household finance, corporate decision-making, legal risk, and insurance economics, among others.
