Master of Science in Marketing
Application Process
In response to current testing limitations due to COVID-19, the Master of Science in Marketing has implemented a test optional admissions review process for fall 2020. Applicants who can demonstrate strong verbal and quantitative skills through their professional experience and/or academic record may request test alternative consideration. For fall 2020 only, candidates do not need to meet the alternative criteria specified in the “Test Scores” section below.
We offer flexibility in the way you help us understand your strength as an applicant. Alternatives to submitting a GMAT or GRE score as part of your application are available. Learn more about your options »
Complete the online application along with the $50 application fee.
Video Interview
As part of your online application, be prepared to complete a mandatory video interview. The video interview is your opportunity to show the admissions committee your personality and articulate why you are a good fit for Robinson. You will have the opportunity to test your system for compatibility prior to proceeding to the final video prompt, but will only receive one opportunity to record your answers. If a second in-person or Skype interview is needed, someone from the admissions committee will notify you.
GMAT Alternatives
There are many ways you can demonstrate your readiness for graduate study. For that reason, we offer flexibility in the way you help us understand your strength as an applicant. For the Robinson Master of International Business program, the following alternatives to submitting a GMAT or GRE test score are available.
- You already have earned an advanced degree (master’s, specialist or doctorate).
- You already have at least 3 years of full-time professional experience in a marketing function.
- You have at least a 3.25 undergraduate GPA from an accredited college or university and at least 3 years of full-time professional experience.
If one or more of the above describe you, you can ask that your candidacy be evaluated on the basis of these criteria rather than on the basis of a standardized test score.
If you choose to pursue one of these alternatives, we will evaluate your application first on the basis of the alternative criteria and, if a GMAT or GRE score is necessary for us to fully assess your candidacy for admission, we will request one from you later.
Please note – if you request your application be evaluated on the basis of one of these alternative criteria and you still choose to submit a GMAT or GRE test score, that score becomes part of the portfolio used to consider your candidacy.
To request evaluation on the basis of one of the alternative standardized test score criteria, please submit an otherwise complete application and pay the $50 nonrefundable application fee. Then email cwhite141@gsu.edu expressing that you would like to be considered for a decision with a standardized test score alternative. For your request to be considered, your application must be otherwise complete and your email must clearly state for which alternative criteria you would like to be considered.
