B.A., speech communication and theatre, Columbia CollegeActive in the Atlanta business community for more than 40 years, Ann Ritter received a master’s degree in marketing from the Robinson College in 1986 and returned to Georgia State to consult and teach from 1991-96, and 2007-2017. Her professional and industry experience also includes management roles in marketing communications for agencies, financial and professional services firms, a manufacturer, the arts and several non-profits. She also has taught and practiced yoga and embodied leadership.
Ritter completed a second master’s degree and doctorate in human and organizational systems from Fielding Graduate University in 2013 and 2016, respectively. Her research and professional interests include communication leadership and diversity- and inclusion-related topics for business and academic settings. Preparing an individual or organization to successfully collaborate inter- and cross-culturally is her primary aim. Her current research focuses on the critical concept of belonging.
She is co-author of "Invitation to the Jam," about living in a permanently liminal state and stepping out of an authentic core to bring your best to any situation, regardless of what aspect of your identity is required. The title appears as a chapter in Deathworlds to Lifeworlds: Collaboration with Strangers for Personal, Social and Ecological Transformation. (2021, Berlin, DeGruyter Press).
