Fang Yang is a Clinical Associate Professor and the Director of the Undergraduate Actuarial Science program at Georgia State University. Before joining GSU, she worked at West Virginia University (WVU) as a Teaching Professor in the School of Mathematical and Data Sciences. She also coordinated the Actuarial Science program at WVU and advised the WVU Actuarial Club.
She has a Master's degree in Statistics and a PhD in Economics. Fang is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA). She has taught various courses in math, statistics, economics, and actuarial sciences. She has also published her work in journals like Social Networks, Journal of Economics and Finance Education, and Journal of Financial Education.
Fang Yang is passionate about helping students interested in pursuing a career in actuarial science. She offers advice, guidance, and support to them. She has also active in building connections with actuarial organizations, insurance companies, and actuarial consulting firms. Her aim is to help students and graduates find actuarial internships and job opportunities.
