- Biography
Mr. Jean-Pascal (“J.P.”) Gingras is a Visiting Lecturer, a full-time limited term (i.e., one year) position for the 2021-2022 academic year, in the School of Accountancy at the Robinson College of Business. Before being full-time, Professor Gingras was a part-time instructor beginning in June 2016. Professor Gingras is currently teaching ACCT 2101, Financial Accounting as well as MBA 8025, Financial Accounting for MBAs but could be asked to teach either accounting, economics or finance classes at either the Bachelor or Master levels.
In addition to his role in the School of Accountancy at the Robinson College of Business, Professor Gingras is the owner and sole proprietor of The Gingras Firm, LLC, an award winning full-service forensic accounting firm specializing in economic damages calculations, complex business litigation, securities litigation, personal injury matters, accounting malpractice matters, criminal matters and related expert testimony. Professor Gingras has worked in accounting and forensic accounting in the litigation environment for more than 20 years, authored hundreds of expert and rebuttal expert reports, and has been recognized by Federal and State Courts as an expert in accounting, financial and/or economic matters, business valuations as well as accountants’ standard of care, amongst others.
Prior to starting The Gingras Firm, LLC in 2000, Professor Gingras was a partner at HSNO, an internationally-recognized organization with expertise in forensic accounting and electronic data solutions. Prior to joining HSNO, Professor Gingras was a Director of Finance and Accounting in the securities litigation group at Alston & Bird, LLP where he was an in-house forensic accounting expert. Before holding the positions of Director of Financial Reporting at CheckFree Corporation and Controller at Kodak Dental Systems, Professor Gingras began his career at Deloite & Touche LLP where he worked for more than 6 years.
At St-Bonaventure University, Professor Gingras was in the founding class of the 5-year MBA program, competed as a student-Athlete (tennis), captain of the tennis team, Dean’s list and President’s lists, All-American Student Athlete, named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year (1995) and enshrined in St Bonaventure’s Hall of Fame (tennis) in the class of 2009.
