Ryan Grelecki is an Academic Professional and the Director of External Relations for the Department of Risk Management & Insurance. In the external relations role, he is responsible for the overall growth and development of the RMI Department. Ryan engages with prospective students to build the pipeline of future Risk Management & Insurance and Actuarial Science students. He works to connect current students with risk & insurance industry partners through curricular and co-curricular opportunities, as well as internships and full-time employment. And, he prospects, manages, and grows revenue-generating relationships between the RMI Department and risk & insurance industry partners.
In the classroom, Ryan teaches a variety of courses related to risk management & insurance, law, entrepreneurship, and general business. Ryan also serves as the faculty advisor for Gamma Iota Sigma, the Risk Management & Insurance student organization. Ryan received the Ken Bernhardt Community Service Impact Award in 2021, the Robinson Award for Excellence in Service in 2019, and the Robinson Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2017. In 2016, Ryan was named the Charles M. Hewitt Master Teacher by the Academy of Legal Studies in Business.Beyond teaching, Ryan consults in the risk & insurance industry, is a Certified Practitioner of the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument® (HBDI®), a Certified GrowBIG® Facilitator & Coach, delivering business development consulting to professional service providers. He has further leveraged his HBDI® certification to the benefit of Robinson students in both the WomenLead and Panthers Immersion Programs, counseling them on Whole Brain® Thinking and its application to both professional and personal pursuits. He is also actively involved in various fundraising efforts supporting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, as his oldest son, Parker, is a CMNH Miracle Child.
Prior to full-time teaching, Ryan served as the Director of Business Development for the Atlanta-based tech start-up, Kredible Technologies. At Kredible, he was focused on driving sales, providing client services professionals with uniquely designed, industry-specific tools, which allowed them to take control of and elevate their online credibility in order to realize greater success in their own business development.
Before his entrepreneurial role at Kredible, Ryan gained valuable experience in various facets of the legal industry. He practiced law for several years in two of the nation’s largest law firms, focused on commercial litigation, electronic records management strategy, litigation avoidance and general business counseling. After full-time practice, Ryan worked as a legal recruiter and then managed attorney professional development at another of the nation’s largest law firms. Prior to law school, Ryan worked as a Technology Analyst with Accenture, deploying CRM software solutions at large telecommunications companies.
