Sonia’s research interests are in consumer behavior, with a focus on how consumers respond to branding activities. Her research has appeared in the top journals such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Consumer Psychology as well as books. She is currently on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and International Journal of Research in Marketing. She has mentored Ph.D. students and taught Branding & Consumer Behavior at the PhD level, Brand Management and International Marketing at the MBA level, and Marketing Management at the undergraduate level. She has won awards for her research, teaching, and reviewing.
She holds a doctorate degree in marketing from the University of Minnesota, an MBA from Lancaster University, UK, and a B. Pharma degree from BITS Pilani, India. She worked at SmithKline Beecham (now GSK) before moving to academia.
