Professor Peagler is a licensed attorney in Georgia with experience handling cases in Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and California. His legal practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases. During his years of full-time practice, Professor Peagler worked on significant trial and appellate cases in Georgia, including Veasley v. Monitronics, Martin v. Six Flags, and Grange v. Woodard.
In addition to litigation, Professor Peagler also managed a law firm and oversaw cases from initial intake through final resolution. During that time, he developed an affinity for trial consulting and still periodically consults on high-value cases for attorneys.
Professor Peagler earned his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law, where he interned for the late Justice P. Harris Hines, of the Supreme Court of Georgia and for Judge Alice D. Bonner of the Fulton County Business Court. He was also an invited member of the Bleckley Inn of Court.
Prior to law school, Professor Peagler taught in the English Department at Clemson University, where he was the co-author of “The Resume as Genre: One Place to Explore Classical Rhetoric” in Genre Across the Curriculum (Utah University Press) and co-editor of Reading Matters: The Journal of the South Carolina State Council of the International Reading Association.
